LOVING RIGHT NOW: 001

My favorite season is the turn of a new season. It comes with all this fresh energy and a connection to new inspiration. This Spring I am really feeling TOMATO. If “tomato” was a feeling, it would be playful, bright and fresh.
Here are some things that I am particularly in love with and why (clockwise):
Sézane Gaston scarf. This poppy floral printed bandana comes in a few different designs and colorways each season, and they’re packaged in these really lovely designed envelopes. I buy them as gifts for my girlfriends and at $25-$35, they’re just the sweetest little thoughtful “just because” present.
Flamingo Estate Roma Heirloom Tomato candle. Like I said, I am feeling tomato. There was a Burt’s Bees bar soap back in the day that smelled of fresh tomato vines. It was fresh and green and bright and just made me feel VIBRANT. And while many brands have toyed around with tomato smells, I haven’t found that green vine freshness until now. Flamingo Estate is just a beautiful brand altogether, channeling this sort of rich hippy does luxury Northern California (and maybe some psilocybin). This is a GREAT tomato candle.
Paddywax Baguette candle. Let me preface this by saying I am a total candle SNOB. I want elevated smells and a great package. I don’t eff around with basic store brands… until having come across this weird and WONDERFUL candle. It feels like Provence with its simple ceramic vessel and that tiny precious baguette on there. This scent has a lot of herbs in it and they smell FRESH: rosemary, thyme, cardamom. Love this for a guest room, breakfast room, entry. It also comes in this precious candle tin, which would make a great gift too.
Clare V Pot de Miel bag and Gold Shortie Strap. I LIVE for a basket/bucket bag. I’ve been known to even carry an actual basket for a purse (you should try it!). I love how much they can hold and that I feel a little bit like a grown up Little Red Riding Hood— and also, Jane Birkin did it, therefore FOREVER chic. I particularly love this style because it’s called the “honey pot” bag and feels whimsical. I love that Clare V offers detachable straps so you can change out the vibe. While the Bamboo handle is very cute (and makes me think of Jackie O’s Gucci bag with the bamboo), I LOVE this chunky gold handle on this bag. The contrast between the natural fiber and tight weave of the bag against the shiny “heavy” gold just DOES IT FOR ME.
Bottega Veneta Sardine Bag. The Sardine bag is one of the most significant shapes to be added to the canon of excellent bags. I think this will be a cult collectible style in the future, so if you’re able to get one, DO IT. This wicker basket sardine has that same textural dichotomy that I mentioned above.
Sézane Barry Sweater. I just bought this sweater in Paris, and it’s one of my favorite additions to my wardrobe ever. It’s definitely a year round item, perfectly paired with denim, black cigarette pants, a silky silhouetted skirt and worn open over t-shirts and even with my flowy flowery dresses. Definitely a brand for the Francophile girlies and excellent value for the price.
Flamingo Estate Roma Tomato Room Spray. I’d spritz this in rooms with abundant morning sunlight (and maybe even as a body spray in Spring and early Summer!).
Anthropologie Vegetable Patch Taper Holder. With perfect colors and scale, this contemporary take on old toleware is delightful, equally whimsical AND chic. (And it’s hard to hit those both simultaneously.)
Inner Child Tulip Candle Holder. I am utterly in LOVE with tulips and these handcrafted tulip candle holders come in various colors and heights. It would be obvious to use them on an Easter table spread, but imagine them with some Provençal/Indiennes print linens and black tapers for dinner. Or picture one or two (of different sizes) perched atop a stack of art books on the coffee table with chartreuse or striped tapers.
Paddywax Heirloom Tomato Candle. Available in this adorable travel tin or the full sized vessel, like the Baguette pictured above. Again, I am shocked at how GOOD they got this tomato smell— like fresh crushed vine.
