Morgan Jones Johnston's abstracted portraits have become a highly sought after experience. As the 2020 pandemic lockdowns eased, Morgan began seeking moments of connection with other humans in person. Through the pandemic years, she traveled around the country, meeting with people in gardens, at cafes and other outdoor spaces, sharing intimate conversation and experience as she painted their portraits.
This offering grew into an activation experience, partnering in 2023 with Nine Orchard hotel in NYC on an evening of intimate portrait sittings. In 2024 she traveled to France for an independent portrait event during Paris Fashion Week.
This offering is expressed through brand activations, private commissions and personal sittings for the growing collection that famed Music Supervisor and portrait subject Randall Poster described as having one's insides painted.
Noted for their colorful, gestural quality, these portraits are a study and experience in vulnerability. What happens when two people sit intimately together, sharing a moment and space while the artist acts as mirror?
Additionally, Morgan's pet portraits are once again available (after years of having discontinued them!). These pet portraits are highly sought after, collected by celebrities and book out months in advance.
